For dinner, we headed to Lao Di Fang at Park Mall basement 1 after reading a few vegetarian bloggers raving about the food there. We went around 6.30pm and the restaurant was 1/3 filled and we got a cozy corner to have our dinner.
We love menus that shows good and clear pictures of their food and we kept flipping their menu because everything looked so delicious. We chose 2 dishes initially but ordered another one as the food was really good. The highlight of the meal was Sambal Chilli Fish $15.80+. It was BEYOND spicy but WAY TOO GOOD to be true. It’s so spicy you just want to stop and breathe but yet can’t wait to eat the next bite. Best part of this was that no bones were found..ha! This is really a dish you have to try and the whole fish was actually shaped like one with great texture. The next time we order this again, we’re going to ask for less spices. We also realized most vegetarian restaurants serve brown rice without us asking and at no additional charge.
Next we had stir fried french beans $9.80+ which was another killer dish which will make any non-vegetable eater a fan after trying this. It came with mushroom bits and chai poh(preserved radish) and wrinkled chilli slices.
Last dish we had was seasonal vegetables with mushrooms and red dates $9.80+. This dish is really down to earth good with fresh ingredients and the red dates adds a touch of sweetness with the mushroom oyster sauce.
I cant wait to bring my whole family here for another great meal. Plus, if you’re looking for somewhere central and not so crowded, this is the place to be. I honestly can’t wait for all the chinese new year seasonal menu to be over so that I can taste their usual menu servings. They also serve a lunch vegetarian buffet with dim sum too. I found out that they offer free 10% VIP membership discount to anyone who register via their website. Wow!
