We were in town and decided to check out Tanglin Market Place at Tanglin Mall to see what we can prepare for dinner. We saw some good looking asparagus and Brussels sprouts. Next, we spotted some tortilla wrap and we decided to make an asparagus wrap on the spot!
Using my tried and tested recipe, here are the steps to the best homemade hummus! (in our opinions of course!)
1 cup of can chickpeas (keep the chickpea liquid from the can)
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons of tahini (4 tablespoons of sesame seeds)
1 lemon, squeezed all the juices out
1 teaspoon of cumin
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Salt to taste (I did not add any as I used the chickpea liquid which are salty enough)
Place all ingredients except salt in the blender and blend in low speed to high speed. Stop blender and taste the hummus. Add salt to taste and keep chilled for 1 hour before serving. Before serving, drizzle extra virgin oil for an extra kick!
Next, I prepared the easiest and tastiest baked vegetables. All you need are coarse black pepper (as much as you like), garlic powder (sprinkle generously), salt (a pinch will be good) and 3 tablespoons of olive oil!
Bake it at 200 celsius for 20-25 minutes and voila they were so tasty, I stole some of them before dinner!
At the market place, we also found some ready to eat falafel $9.30 for 12 pieces. We were quite apprehensive if it will taste as good as those served in restaurants and wow we were impressed that they tasted as good or even better. We baked them for 10 minutes before serving. They were crunchy, juicy and came in the perfect size.
We bought a packet of wholegrain tortilla (6 pieces) $5.60 and some sun dried tomatoes (my favourite) $3.80 for 100gram too!
And once everything was ready, we started making our own tortilla wrap and guess what, we finished everything:)
