Sauteed Mushroom Bruschetta – AMICI Italian Restaurant Holland Village

For dinner, we headed to Amici at Holland Village beside Slivercross clinic. Although the reviews of this place were not fantastic we decided to give it a try as we are always on a look out for more vegan italian dishes in Singapore.

As predicted, most dishes came with cheese and when I was away in the washroom I gave Hubby Ro the task to order dinner!

He got sauteed mushroom bruschetta $9.90 served with balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing. The mushrooms were yummy and went really well with the black olives and tomato. But it was a far cry from the awesome bruschetta we had at Original Sin.

Next came a bowl of vegetable soup served with garlic bread $8.90 and it tasted like tomato sauce from a can. It was packed with cubes of vegetables but the soup was too salty for our liking.

The last dish he ordered was a recommendation from the staff as he told them we were vegetarians and he gave us vegetariano $18.90 (baked fusilli with porcini mushroom with asparagus with tomato herb sauce). When it came, we went UH OH! We scrapped off the cheese and ate it still but we told ourselves to remind each other to always highlight our diet preferences to the service crew in the future. The pasta sauce was pretty yummy (tasted like tabasco sauce) and came in a huge portion, perfect for sharing.

Overall, the prices here were too steep for mediocre dishes so it was quite a shame despite the lovely and quiet ambience.
