Earlier in the morning after sending Hubby Ro to work yesterday, I popped over to The Living Cafe for some light breakfast and it was surprisingly one of the best breakfast experience I’ve had for a while. I was the only one in the cafe and it was really quiet and peaceful. I decided to order a granola berries mix $8 with home-made almond milk, strawberries, blueberries and granola cluster which went together very well. I believed coconut sugar was used in their granola and the overall texture was crunchy, chewy and went great with the nutty milk. The portion was just right too and I was stuffed after this berry good bowl of pinks. I decided to also grab a dessert for Hubby Ro for lunch and was hoping to get the key lime pie but it was still not ready. Hence with the recommendation of the staff, I got myself the raspberry cheesecake.
The Raw Raspberry cheesecake from The Living Cafe had to be the best raw cake I have tasted so far in Singapore. It was so good even Hubby Ro who usually hates sour or berry items liked it so much we were snatching to see who can have the last bite. I told him this will be the perfect birthday cake for me too! (hint*!) The cake had a beautiful colour and layers of a crunchy crispy coconut nutty base with creamy cheesy layers and raspberry mousse. It was not too sweet and not too sour too. It had a perfect combination of a good dessert that held together well and opened our appetite even more. At $8.50, this was not a cheap cake but the concept, effort and ingredients used topped the charts for us to have to get it again soon.
