Hubby Ro accompanied me to Zenxin Organic to get the greens for my juice fast and I sat along with him as he ordered 2 dishes from Eight Immortal Vegetarian stall. My grandma told me about this stall a while back and it was time we finally visited. During lunch time, it was packed with workers and we had to queue for 10 minutes to get our orders.
Besides offering economical rice, they have a few classic Singaporean dishes like Lor Mee, Nasi Lemak, Bee Hoon Soup, Hor Fun and much more. When Hubby Ro ordered Nasi Lemak and the Tahu Goreng we were told they were not available for the day.
For a plate with 3 dishes it cost him $2.50 and he enjoyed every bit of it. He found the food slightly salty but it was well balanced with the white rice given. He thought the black bean bitter gourd was the best dish out of the lot.
I was feeling hungry but decided to stick to my juice fast and Hubby Ro got me a fish bee hoon soup so that I can drink the soup! It was not bad and was slightly salty. In the end he did not managed to finish this dish as he found the noodles and the ingredients lacking in flavour. This place is perfect for people on-the-go wanting cheap and decent vegetarian food.
