For dinner after our light yudofu hot pot meal, we headed to town to find Mikoan (a home style restaurant that seats less than 10 people each time).
It was located in a tiny alley beside a huge bookshop along Fuji Daimaru side entrance.
The restaurant was so cramped and packed with so many items. There were hardly any space for us to walk around freely. It felt like someone’s home which had not been cleaned for ages!
We ordered the Vegetarian dinner set with side dishes 1000 yen ($13.30) and the curry set 800 yen ($10.60).
We both thought the vegetarian set with side dishes was the best! Everything in the set was super delicious. The tofu was really soft and well marinated. The curry on the other hand was so huge we had a tough time finishing it.
Our favourite side dish were the soy fried meat fritters and we ordered an extra portion 400 yen ($5.30) to share. Although the food was great the ambience was quite dirty. Hubby Ro told me he spotted some cockroaches along the way. We did not get any tummy aches after this meal but we wished it was cleaner!
