HAPPY NEW YEAR:)
Sorry for the lack of posts as we got busy partying and working till 2014 ends. We have super exciting news to share in coming months with a BRAND NEW website, up-to-date features and more content of course:) To kick start this year, we decided to create a community-sharing fund raising program called “VEGAN COMMUNE FUND-A-THON”.
This idea started at work (Choo Yilin Jewellery) when we were tasked to think about how would we spend $200 with the caveat that whatever we spent on, it had to benefit at least 10 other souls (humans and furry pals included!). Bonus points for creating maximum happiness to as many souls as possible. For my version, after discussing with Mr Vegan, we decided to host a Vegan Commune Fund-a-Thon private home party on
21 March 2015, Saturday!
Time: 12 noon & 3pm (2 slots)
Number of Guests: 12 pax (6 pax per session)
All proceeds will go to PETA!
The menu will include an all-day breakfast brunch menu/buffet with cereals with many non-dairy milk choices, pancakes, and desserts at the price of $60/pax!
How do I take part:
1. If you are interested to take up in this charity challenge and dine with us, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
2. You will be required to make a $60 upfront to secure your seat as seats are limited!
3.If you think the price is exorbitant the price can be brought down/offset! All you have to do is get involved in a charity of your choice!
4.$10 dollars will be refunded for every 3 hours of charity performed, up to a maximum of 30 dollars.
5. Take a picture of yourself holding a piece of paper with the written date and time on which you were involved at the charity venue itself. When we meet in person at the party, we will refund you back the charity hours you have contributed:)
6. We will be looking forward to hearing your stories in person and will also be featuring you on our blog!!
The act of charity can involve anything from spending time with old folks, orphans, to helping out at animal shelters etc. However do note that we are vegan, and so for coherence to our values, we would appreciate that the charitable act does not involve any human consumption of meat or animal products.
We are now on facebook at www.facebook.com/mrandmrsvegan where we share more candid insights and pictures of our daily vegan journey.
